next time you got a code, take it to autozone, theyll read em for free. a maf code will definitely come up, likely bank 1 and bank 2 lean and possibly one specifically stating maf, a new maf is about 120 lifetime warranty and its two security torx screws to change. you can buy the screwdriver for around 7 or they might have one you can borrow. 15 minutes later and voila even cheaper than the good old boys =)

 

gateway chevy is terrible. since I got my monte I only had mechanics work on it not dealer service centers. Most of our chevy dealers here in az are terrible.

 

Sorry to say, lesson learned here too. I'll be doing my own work or taking it to the local shop if its something major.

 

I was supposed to take my car in after work to get looked at under the GM Optimum 3 month warranty, its an hour away and my gut feeling was to say **** it, they would just jerk me around over the service air bag issue ive been having. Last time i took it in all i got was, " we couldnt duplicate the issue" bull.
