I'm trying to slowly refresh this beast and replace parts it never had since I've owned it. With that being said can someone check under their hood at the top air baffle between the radiator and bumper(#7 on the diagram) and tell me how many fasteners#10) there are on it? Also tell me how the two #8s attach, and how many #9s I need to make it work?

#10 = 1 , #9 = 2 , # 8 I looked at mine and I can't see that ??? Sorry.. Mine is an 2005

 

I don't see part #8 on my 2004 either. Do you know what it's supposed to be?

 

#8 is supposed to be a piece that goes to the right and left side of it I'm guessing below. I don't have anything there so I'm not quite sure.

So the consensus is that there's 1 fastener(10) and 2 retainers(9)? From the diagram it looks as if the retainers clip on to the #8's on both sides what do they clip on to your vehicles?

 

Yes, 1 #10 and 2 #9 but I think they consolidated parts in later years because all 3 fasteners on my '03 are identical. They pass through holes in the plastic air baffle (#7) and clip into holes in the radiator support. I think #8 is a piece of pliable rubber that is located directly under the hood latch mechanism...or at least that is the only thing I can see on mine that remotely resembles it. My guess would be it is there to prevent turbulence around the hood bracket and keep the air flow straight as it enters the radiator.

 

Thanks from the looks of the holes I figured they were all the same.

I found out where the two #8s are, if you look where your ambient temp sensor is underneath your pass headlight. You will see it held on by two snap in button style retainers. Naturally I am missing the driver's side one but the retainers are still in there....go figure lol
