Default I Need A Favor

My girlfriend Deb's mother has bone cancer. They can't give her normal treatments due to her being so weak. Doctor says the cancer has progressed so rapidly 6 months is all he will give her.

The past two weekends we've put 700 miles on the Pace car driving to/from MI. But we need to be there. Looks like we'll be making a lot more trips in the coming weeks as well.

Deb's dad is still in great health at 81 yrs old but his mind is going. He can't be relied to give the proper care to their mom. So their mom goes in to assisted living the first of the week. All the paperwork is signed.

I know some have already experienced the loss of a parent. Loosing anyone you care for isn't easy. And like a moron I'm at a loss for words. All I can do is say "I'm sorry." which really feels inadequate.

We could really use your Prayers right now.

You and yours will be in our prayers as you go through this tough time. You don't have to say anything.....just being there and giving support speaks to the soul louder than any words can.

Default God Is with You......

Hey RJ......I know what you are going through....
I lost my Dad Dec. 08 while my Mom was being treated for
breast cancer. It was very tough on my Mom but she made it
and is cancer free now. However, she is in a nursing home now
and she has dementia to a degree but Her Spirit is still very good.
Just keep encouraging Debbie and her Mom and the Family...
Is All the paper work done ? Power of Attorney.....living will
and any other legal stuff ? For me ( only child ) it made things a
whole lot better to manage things..though it's still tough.
God Will be With You.........Stay Focused.

Loosing family is tough. There is no EASY way. Is she a Born Again Christian? THAT is the only thing that gives us comfort, is the knowing that she WILL be better when this is over. My Mom had a hard life, and the last few years were worse with the Alzheimers. But she's WAY better than WE are now, and there is NO WAY that I want her back. Do we miss her? No doubt!
Pray for Deb's Mom, and Deb. Pray WITH them. Trust that God will make her better when it's done.

BTW, Happy Birthday RJ.

I'll keep her and the whole family in my prayers.

I too have the problem of not knowing what to say at times. You want to say something helpful and inspiring. But can't think of anything that wouldn't come out wrong.

Also sending Birthday Wishes your way too.

As Abraham Lincoln once said, "It is not the years in your life, but the life in your years." Hopefully her mother has had a long, memorable life that was full of joy, happiness, loving family and friends, and she will be remembered for years to come not for the bad times, but for the good times that you all shared with one another.

It's very hard loosing a parent, as I lost my Mom almost 1 year ago. All my prayers go out to you, Deb and her family. What got me through the hard time was being around family members.

Thank you all very much for the Prayers and support.

Deb's parents were and are Christians. Her father has been a Pastor for many, many years. That was the reason they moved from PA to MI to being with. He was offered a Church in Ann Arbor when Debbie was 2 yrs old.

I know Debbie is trying to stay strong.

PS. And thank you for the B-day wishes.
