Not sure if this is impressive or not for you guys, but it is for me. So I thought I should share my experience. Well the new Need for Speed game is coming out soon, and just as a preview to myself I decided to actually test how fast my car would go. Anyway, long story short I borrowed three different fuzz busters from my friends, had one of my friends drive a head and one to the back to spot a couple miles away for me. Punched the gas on the interstate, my first time EVER getting into fourth gear at full throttle, and hit 135 MPH maybe 136. It was during Peak working hours so traffic was minimal... It was flippin sweet. No radar beeps at all... My craving for speed has been fuffilled, now I keep it clean b/c winter is coming.

Have you guys been able to go faster?

 

The thing that impresses me about going 100+ is how steady these cars are.
I rarely do it, but when i do I enjoy it very much.

 

i've only been faster once but was in the passenger seat we hit 145 in my bro's 84 jag xjs in a mater or no time flat, had more in it but exit ramp was comming up

 

I have never seen 100 in my Monte atleast you had some sense to keep it somewhat safe, congrats on reaching your "need for speed"! someday I'll get up there.....

 

Ive only got about 120 so far. And this new game coming out has me excitied.

 

I've only been 100 in my monte but I know it will go much faster, especially since I have the governor removed , but someone let me drive their 2000 something Porsche Boxer and I had it up over 160 very quickly with the top down, and I still had 2 gears to go. Talk about a rush lol. I didn't even know I was going that fast till I looked at the speedo.

 

I've never really been much higher then 100mph in my Monte. Never saw the point in it.

Also just an fyi, going into 4th gear at that speed might ruin your 4th gear. That seems to be a common problem with these trannys. The shaft is not very strong and tends to fail.

 

^^^^what he said...under no circumstances, should you let your car shift into 4th gear at WOT....it WILL break.

that being said, i topped out 3rd gear in my GTP when i still had the 2.93 gears (about 153) and i got an opportunity to ride along in a ZR1 vette last summer, we hit 16x getting on the highway effortlessly LOL

 

Very nice. I'm glad that you got to experience the speed in a somewhat safe manner.
