Default My Inlaws new 2005 Monte Carlo

I just wanted to post a few pics of my In-laws new car. My father in law picked it up for 2500 dollars. It has the 3.4 with around 200,000 miles on it but it runs great. He just bought it to drive through the winter and as long as it lasts The only problem is when you use the cruise control the speedo jumps around and there is a strange noise under the hood. Without the cruise on everything is fine so if anyone has any thoughts about that let me know. Now here are some pics.

I like the two tone interior

Doesn't look to bad for 2500!

Looks like a heck of a sweet deal!! As long as they keep up with it, I bet that thing well serve very well!

Sadly, no advice on the speedo/cruise/noise issue. If all symptoms are subject when the cruise is on and never any other time, I'm guessing a failing cruise module (and maybe it shorts out something related to feeding the speedo the actual speed).

Yeah it was a pretty good deal. The seller had it for sale in his yard for a few months and kept lowering the price because he bought a new car and didnt need it anymore. I think they will get a lot more miles out of it too.

Decent ride! Way to keep your inlaws on the straight and narrow! My inlaws bought a friggin' BMW, which I hate, and still have the nervous to hassle me for parts and technical advise

The noise is probably the cruise servo. It may be backfeeding too causing the erratic gauge.

Nice Lookn Monte...looks very clean!
2005 for $2500.00 aint to shabby either, despite the mileage...

I see it has the same rims on it like my 1999!

Yeah it's in pretty nice shape. There is a small bubble in the rear wheel well in the typical spot but nothing too serious

Brent My father in law is a GM guy. He retired from there. He dont even like my son to park his nissan in the driveway at their house.

Aussie I will have to look into that. thanks

David I'm glad it has those rims instead of those wheels everyone hates

Mike you may need to adjust the settings on your monitor, it's the right color...it's Victory Red, the best color GM offers
