To my experienced Monteniacs..
There are a couple of things i want to add to my recently purchased Monte
Those Monte decals across the windshield... ones advertised on Ebay say
that it goes on the OUTSIDE of the windshield... for those of you who have experience with em, is that true?
I thought those went inside, but again i dont really know.
Weathertech wind deflectors, i went to a site that said that they use doublesided 3m tape , i thought that THOSE didn't use any type of tape.???
any responses, i appreciate.
Thank you.

i'm sure that the people here can answer your questions, but i've never seen the above word to describe monte carlo owners, maybe websters dictionary will add it to their dictionary this year if it is used a lot, thanks

The Windshield decal goes on the OUTSIDE of the car. As long as the glass is cleaned, it will not give you any problems.
As far as the window vents go, I looked at the website and the ones they are selling there DO NOT use tape. They look like they tuck unto the window channel. I have seen some really cheap ones that do use the the tape. If you are interested in getting them, then you should get them from there.

The "Monte Carlo" decal goes on the outside. And you need to remember it's on there if you're in an area that gets snow or cold winters. Because a lot of people forget it's on there, and hit the lettering with their ice scrapers.
I hit mine once the first winter I had my Monte. Nothing like that feeling of hitting the lettering with your ice scraper, and hoping it didn't chip. Then the harsh reality when I looked and saw a tiny piece of the "O" missing.
In the wintertime, I don't bother clearing the snow or ice from the top of the windshield where the lettering is.
As soon as I can afford to move to another house, I'm going to insist on a home with a garage. I hate keeping my Monte outside. Don't like what the weather does to the decals and the paint.

Get the "WeatherTech" Special Floor Mats for the Monte.
They look GREAT. They clean easy. They save the Custom Carpet from any wear!
Pull 'em out and stick 'em in the Trunk for showing-off the carpet at shows.
Stick 'em right back in after the show and you don't have to worry about anything messing the carpet up ... ever again.
They are so durable they are guaranteed for the life of the car.

I too recommend the Weathertech rubber floor mats. I have them in the front and they protect the carpet great. I decided to keep them in the 05 all year round. (When I bought the 05 in Feb, it came with a brand new set of factory floor mats that I use in the 03 show car). I also have the Weathertech bug and stone deflector to cover up all the rock chips that came on the 05 when I bought it.
