Question What would you rather have...??

I agree with you. But...

Personally I would rather have my old C-10 with 321,000 miles on it.
At least I can work on it & replacement parts are cheap. Tundra is
a real truck - a Honda Ridgeline is NOT!

As far as a New Honda Ridgeline -- I would rather push my '98 Monte
Carlo than drive (like my neighbor has been boasting about) that!

Everyone wanted me to buy a Toyota or Honda. I said hell no, why do i have to buy toyota or honda, is it because i am hispanic? lol
I didn't listen and got me a Monte... a nice one. It's the best ever!
Now when my father is going out on his 06 Corolla S, i tell him "take my car " and he does, he loves the engine, the looks and ride. When he gets back he always tells me, that's a heck of a car. .. and i smile and feel proud.
My first ever big decision on my own and i bought a Monte.

yeah i had a 1998 tacoma, and it was recalled. it was a beautiful truck and we didn't think the frame was bad. turns out the dealer that we bought it off of covered the rust holes in the frame with duct tape and then undercoated the whole underneath! but we did end up getting close to 15k for a truck we paid 8k for.

oh, next time a ridgeline owner gives you a hard time about your monte, ask them how they will change a flat tire when they have their "truck" bed full of gravel or something like that. (the spares in the trunk) thats smart engineering right there

Good for you! Sounds like you made a good decision. People who told that
probably evny you & that car. You just don't know it...

When you go to repair it --it will cost a fraction for parts too.

Said the same thing years back when I bought my 95 Z34. Buy a Civic and sink $6000 in rims, exhaust, wings and the maditory yellow stickers and what do you have... A Civic... Figured for that money I got my Monte, it may have looked like every other one out there but it was a thousand times better.

ive been following this thread, it sounds like your neighbor is a moron, lol. oh, well as they say ya cannot fix stupid, but there is nothing wrong with making the best of the situation, even better that the guy is jealous, lol. you should have a vanity plate made up for your monte, or stickers for the rear windows, that say something like " i would rather push an old chevy than drive a new honda", and park the car where your neighbor can see... maby that will give his brain enuff cranking amps to get the idea, lol.
