Hi Bermumdez, & Welcome to the MCF Family.

I think any converstion can be done, but @ what cost ?
I would really do your homework, and cost projections
before I would attempt the change.
Do you have the knowledge/tools to do it yourself ?
The North Star is a great engine, but if I wanted a
powerful ride I would personally save for a 06-07 V8 SS.
Your time/money/investment.
Let us know what you decide.
Good Luck

I have to agree with Space. Unless you really want the 2000-2005 body styling, it might be cheaper to just go with a 2006 or 2007 V8.

It certainly would be an ambitious project. I'm not really up on the NorthStar engine and tranny combo. Is it FWD or RWD? If it's RWD, it's definitely not worth it. Too many modifications needed to your car.

But if it's FWD and it fits in the engine bay, you could give it a try. You'd have a lot of wiring and re-programming to do.

I believe the cadillac eldorado and the monte carlo are the same frame. By rights the swap would work but the electrical/computer conversion would be a major undertaking. On a performance aspect I would opt for a supercharger like a paxton belt driven with a small nos kit over a major overhaul like that. Lets assume the motor swap will cost you 7 grand to complete, for the same 7 grand you could get the supercharger, nos, transmission upgrade, some handling upgrades and one fast reliable street machine that would more likely then not, out perform a v8 ss monte at least.
