Monte Nationals NMCOA
#11
This will be a ten hour trip for me, but wifey and I are making a vaction out of it. We may go to Gatlingburg and/or Pigeon forge after the show. Smokey Mountains are so beautiful and fun to drive in.
Really hope to see some of you MCF members would be fun.

Tadd, just make sure your Monte is totally clean - they don't judge on "correctness" so the key to winning a big show like this it to have an extremely clean and detailed car - especially the engine compartment. In the case of a tie they will judge the undercarriage so make sure that is tidy too. I know I'm a clean freak and I like the competition, but the most important thing is to have fun.

I know in PA there was a hose for a quick rinse off.

They usually will have a hose set up. When I went 2 years ago, my car was detailed before I left and luckily didn't run into any weather on my way so it stayed pretty clean - just had to take the front end mask off and Precious was as good as new.

Yep I noticed that ...going to get one before I leave. Already got the hotel registration and regestered for the show also.

I wish I could make it but it's way too far for me. I'm hoping for another Convention in Ohio or Indiana soon, I could do that for sure.
Went with the family to the 2002 Convention in Nashville when Dad had his '72 Monte. Dad trailered the car and I remember that trip taking us about eight hours. I didn't have my own car then, since I was just 15, but did get a 1st place for one of my car models. We just made a vacation out of that trip and also stopped at the Corvette assembly plant and museum in Bowling Green on the way home.
