Monte Carlo problemmss. :(
So i recently had my Oil Pan Gasket replaced. Costed me about 700 bucks with a discount due to them taking longer than they should of because they were busy. They also got grease on my matt... and it kinda went away, after i tried cleaning it. (they had a paper matt down that ripped.). and they also didnt put the dip stick back all the way. i popped the hood and it was half way out. I wasnt too happy with my last visit at the dealership. and to top it off my car is leaking a pink fluid now that it wasnt before i brought it to the dealer. my first guess was it was power steering fluid or tranny fluid. So i dropped my car back off at the dealer with a nice little note saying how i wasnt too happy the last visit. My friend Steve who works there gave me a call and said it was the Water Pump Seal, and needs a new Water Pump. Coolant was the pink fluid. A Mechanic that works with my dad said that the recent repair couldnt of effected this and its just a coincidence. this is going to cost me another 350 bucks.. (thats another discounted price too)
this is heartbreaking! (i might ask for some new matts or a new driver side matt if that stains still there)
any inputs from you guys? anyone have these problems?

^79 Monte Carlo gettin some work done i suppose !

good luck. from my own experience and a couple stories here i can tell ya, dealerships aren't too keen on replacing stuff that they ruined, especially if you leave the dealership and bring it back to complain. . . . good luck and keep us updated
Replace the water pump yourself. It's easy to do, and you will have to pay $35-40 for the water pump and another $35-40 for the belt. Just remember that one of the bolts for the water pump can only be accessed through a hole in the water pump pulley. After that, pocket the rest of the money that you would have spent at the stearlership.

I agree with Zipper. DIY my friend.
The only work I've had a "shop" do on my cars is exhaust and transmission. Though in rare times, I have a GM Mechanic friend (he is an actual GM mechanic) who has diagnosed problems I could not do successfully (but from there, I did the wrench work).

yeah it would of been smart to do that. but i didnt know what was bad until the shop checked. and my dad gave them the go ahead. but thanks for the feedback! i just hope my bad luck has ran outtt
I have the habit of ALWAYS checking everything before I even leave when a place does my work. Sometimes they mess up and I can just call them out right then and there to make it right.
