So... here is my situation, Hello Monte Carlo Community I am a proud new Monte Fan on here I have been loving Monte's ever since i was 8 It is now time for me to get myself a monte now, I am looking at 2 Montes atm their stats vs one another are literally the same

we got in this corner

75k miles
Electrical Issues (may be resolved)
Tire Pressure Loss (but they are alloy wheels)
Unknown condition of interior
Car is in Florida, I am in Georgia
$2,199
and in this corner
2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for sale in Claxton - 2G1WZ121949382027 - NeSmith Chevrolet Buick GMC Inc.
80k Miles
Electrical Issues 3x
Unknown Condition of Interior
Car is in Georgia, I am in Georgia

as you can see these cars look EXACTLY the same but heres my issue, Which One?!?! the Electrical on both cars have the same issue: Speedometer, Tachometer & Oil Gauges seems to stick or read wrong so Nice to meet you all and hopefully i get some help here!

If you have access to a scanner take it with you when you look at the cars and hook it up and see if there are any stored codes. I would definitely check out the one at the dealer closer to you as you can get a warranty so if anything major happens you have that to fall back on.
Weird that both cars would have the same issues for the speedo, tach and oil gauges? but you can always replace the dash piece with a junk yard one and get it reprogrammed, I wonder if that is what was done and they haven't been reprogrammed which is what may be causing the issues (just thinking out loud on that)

UPDATE:

The Carlo in Claxton is $8,000 no way in hell i can afford that at this point in time.

The Carlo in Jacksonville is apparently ripped up and in bad condition worse than they are advertising.

OUTCOME:

I have decided to buy a 2004 Grand Am with random stalls lol its clean, and its gotta badass head unit so.. i guess it will work as the 1st car eventually sell it for a carlo

sounds like you dodged a bullet with the one, and ya that price is a tad ridiculous for the other. Grand Am's are great cars as well and you will probably enjoy it almost as much as a monte

I was gonna say that first one is really sketchy, price is way way way too cheap and the dealer has rather low reviews. Agreed $8k was a bit much for the other one as it didn't look like it was in great shape either.

Question: what is a good price for a Monte Carlo SS Intimidator nowadays?

It's not uncommon for the gauges to have issues. These cars have a known history with the stepper motors failing, when they do the gauges read incorrect. If you are handy with a soldiering iron, you can get the steppers from eBay and swap them yourself.

Grand Ams are nice (specifically the 3400 v6). Hope you enjoy it until you can find what you really want.

Depending on mileage and condition, probably around $6k or so.
