modifying 5th gen
You can do true duals to a 5th gen, just as mentioned before you need to move the firewall.
I already have an intake setup. I relocated the battery and cut a hole in the side of my stock air box and lead a 3" hose into the fender. Works the same as most cold airs I've seen.
I am just using this thread as a referance for future purposes and other 5th gen modders.
Also, Zipper: do you still have those headers?

Yes I do still have the headers that I mentioned (they're now dirty).
I think you're getting confused augi about the exhaust on our 5th gens. The reason that you have to cut the firewall isn't because people are running true duals, it's because the headers simply don't fit in the back. Here's an old pic of my headers to demonstrate:

Our headers go to a collector right where our firewall is.
I have only seen one 5th gen with true duals and it was terrible. The only way they could make it work was by putting the exhaust from the front manifold down under the cradle. It wasn't even an inch off the ground. I'm thinking it was Milzy that tried it back in 02 or 03.
So true dual exhaust is not something that you should do on a 5th gen. Is it possible? Technically yes, but it's far from practical.

No, I was merely stating how you could go about it and that was the way I thought it would have to go. Just run really narrow parallel. The fact tht I said" cut the firewall" just meant its a bad idea.
Also, would you be willing to sell those headers? I can paint dirty.

If you go to clubgp's forum, you'll find headers for sale there. I see them all the time there going from $250 or so up. Good luck with your build augi!
Thanks for the wish of luck, im going to need all I can get. For some reason, I just keep getting a bad hand money wise an have to wait to get everything I need.
Also, congrats on getting close to your goal, I know it gets exciting when you start really get rolling with your mods and don't want to stop... what have you done trans wise to handlethe hp?

As far as the tranny, I have a shift kit
It's been like this for almost a year now and I'm surprised that I've had no tranny issues thus far. However, I'm going to be saving up for a built tranny from TEP.
I can't remember for sure which shift kit mine is. It was about 5 years ago when I bought it off of a guy online.
This is a pretty good one from what I hear though: http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_p...=570&catid=105
