Windows are etched with a serial number, possibly the VIN. That way someone can't steal the car and part it out,or at least the windows... not sure of what the market for MC windows is though Etching has been around for awhile but like I said I can't really see the benefit, most people that would steal cars could care less about the windows, it's the other parts they want. But if the insurance company likes it and will lower the premium, why the heck not?

Does look like a nice car, good luck captian!

The etched windows were supposed to be able to help identify a stolen vehicle. My 2004 came with it also. But it seems to me any thief can simply break the window and bye-bye etching.

The member I was thinking of is "red06ss". I checked the pictures I have of his Monte. It's not the same one.

Besides the stripes, I can't be more annoyed by that 327 badge on the car. The 5.3 is not a 327.

Jose, that is when motors were measured in cubic inches and not liters

correct its technically a 325 cubic inches but then again the ls1s not a 350 its like a 346 but ppl say they are. i dont think that liters convert to cubic inches to easily with out decimals and what not. gotta think about it like this a 5.0 mustang is a 302 and a 305 monte is a 5.0. 327 just sounds better then 325 even though its technically incorrect. and i hate when the stripes go over the roof too.

Exactly the first thing that came to my mind too. However, I actually really like the whole look of the car other than the 327 badge.

but then again the ls1s not a 350 its like a 346 but ppl say they are.
That makes more sense to me because at least then you're just rounding off to 350. 325 is a more round number than 327.

i dont think that liters convert to cubic inches to easily with out decimals and what not.
Without doing the conversion, just directly calculating cubic inches:

LS4 bore = 3.780" stroke = 3.622"

Area of the bore = (pi * bore ^2)/4 = 11.22208 in^2 (using 3.1415927 for pi)

Cubic inches of one cylinder = area of bore * stroke = 40.64639 in^3

Cubic inches of engine = volume of one cylinder * number of cylinders = 325.1711

That converts to 5.3285 liters

(a straight 5.3L conversion is actually 323.4, even smaller than the 327, that would be closer to a 5.4 which is 329.5 cubic inches)

Also, just for conversation's sake- the real chevy 327's with a bore of 4.000" and a stroke of 3.250" is actually 326.726 cubic inches.

I personally think they guy she have went a little further with cleaning it up though before taking pictures for an ebay listing.
x2, or at least leave out the pic of the nasty floor mat. You'd figure the nicer the car looks, the more money you'd get for it.

its a fuel sippen v8
Don't know if I'd really call an LS4 'fuel sipping', its definitely not the kind of car you buy for getting great MPG.
