Well guys, I'm back. I've had the Genesis Coupe for a year now, and it's been nothing but problems. Well, from the dealer anyway. They sold me a certified used car, and this car should never have been certified. They must have broke the rear view mirror off and swapped another on. The one they swapped on can't be dimmed. The car was sold with the wrong size and style wheels, and there are a bunch of random things that don't work.

Long story short, they either have to fix everything(like $5000), give me all my money back, or put me into a 2013 refined Genesis Coupe. We'll see what they decide, but if they buy me out, I'm probably going to get a 06-07 Monte.

There is one not to far from me, with 47,000 miles and the dealer wants 16k for it. But it comes with a 3 year warranty. I'm going to call on them tomorrow. Now I walked away from the last one with half as many miles for that price, so this ones certainly leaves quite a bit of negotiation room. It's white, which I am not all that fond of, but I've seen some guys paints the ground effects silver, and it looks pretty decent.

What would you guys think this car is worth? http://www.verackamotors.com/used/Ch...f0bd08fb6b.htm

Anyone happen to know who's car it was?

Good luck getting back into a Monte!

I would say 16k COULD be a little high, but the 3-year warranty if that is bumper to bumper could be worth it (since transmissions and wheel hubs are too common).

Maybe you can get them to wiggle the price a little

i think 16 is high. i bought mine for 19 almost 4yrs ago with a hair over 15000 miles on it. it was certified used, and come to think of it my warranty is up tomorrow. id hunt around a bit more. then again as long as that warranty covers, everything, doesnt have a crazy deductable, and doesnt begin till you purchase it id be down.

Still looking. There ended up being a deposit on the car(for almost 3 weeks), and the kid finally pulled through and bought it.

So I'm still on the hunt. Been doing a lot of searches about them. Is it true there were TSB's for the transmission and the power steering in 2006, but not for 2007's? Seems like the 07's were sort of hung out to dry?

There are a couple of 06's around and one 07 that I'll be looking at on Wednesday.

the recall for the power steering i thought was on all the ls4 cars 05-09. i never heard there was a tsb for any of the ls4 cars transmission. 07 mcss to my knowledge cant be tuned with the predator. 06 can. i believe they run different pcms amongst other small changes.

Thanks for the information. Can the 07's be tuned at all? Is there an easy way to tell if the car has been tuned? I know on my current car, it raises the redline and so forth. What should I look for to see if any of these cars have been tuned previously?

the 07s can be tuned just not with the predator. idk if any of the other diablo stuff works on them. i dont think theres any real way to tell if its been tuned, or not with out actually looking at the current tune against the factory tune. if the dod has been tuned out the dic will constantly say 8 cylinder mode instead of switching to 4 cylinder mode when your in 4th gear. the rev limiter in park, and neutral should still be in place if it hasnt been tuned. the canned tunes by diablo still retain them though, but most people want that tuned out. shift points would all depend on what tuner was used. they cant be changed with the predator. shift points should be somewhere in the 5900 ballpark. if its substantially higher id wonder about it. i wouldnt want to go any higher than 6200rpm with the factory springs, and even then its probably running out of breath with the factory intake manifold/cam up there.
