i wondered if mine is a pace car edition...yellow is the original color as it shows the yellow coded vin plate,has the limited edition cluster,the red bow ties,and the yellow monte carlo signature on the rocker panel interior....but are the headrests supposed to have SS on them?......I know mine was built in Canada and was a one owner when i got it. The guy i got it from gave me some of the original paperwork and i was surprised to know the monte was 36660.00 cdn...without taxes applied.....alot compared to some new chevy products today....i priced a 2011 camaro RS @36000.00 without any incentives

how do i get my car history checked so i can see if it realy is a pace model, i think it is but i would like to know for sure and is a pace model something that i should take realy good care of because its "specail"

 

you should take care of it either way lol, pace cars get more and more rare everyday because they are wrecked and stuff.

im going to take some pics of it tomorrow i just got it. It is a 2001 ss and the owners in the past did not take very good care of i bought for 1000 as a car to drive back and forth to work now im starting to see the diamond in the ruff i might have. my goal would be to bring it back to its prime if not better

 

Even if the paint is bad there can still be good things about it, the 3800 is a strong engine and the transmissions can last long if treated well.

common places to check for rust to help it last longer are under the doors and behind the headlights.

 

i just saw a pic of a guys dash and it says pace car in front of the passenger seat mine just says monte carlo so does that mean i dont have a pace car

Well, remember there were Limited Edition that had the "High Sport Package"
It didn't necessarily have to be a Pace Car to be a limited edition.
