Legal questions on recalls
#2
From what I understand, GM is still liable to repair the car. No matter who owns it. As long as it's still on the road and was not repaired by a certified dealer, they could still be sued should something happen.

the recall wasent fully anounced till febuary. did you get you car from a gm dealer or a second hand dealer? if it was from a gm dealer they should have taken care of it before you got the car if not get it fixed befor it goes out on you while driving.

Okay. My '06 LTZ came from a Chevy dealership. According to them, they are not a certified dealer otherwise I could have gotten in on the 100,000 mile warranty. (I somehow feel like they took the oppotunity to shaft me on this?)
I got the car in october, 2006 through the dealership. They located the car for me and had to brought to their place. I am the first private owner of the car. Someone had it before me.
Chevy tracked me down and told me about the power steering recall. Not only with a letter from them but also a post card.
They tracked us down on the 2003 Pace car for the oil fire recall too. We're the second owners on this car.
This leads me to believe Chevy is still liable for the recall repair.
