What is the meaning behind the knight badge emblem on Montes? Have been wondering and thought I should ask.

CORT? Someone has a question for you.

My impression was the knight stood for stateliness or luxury.

The Monte was alwaysadvertised as a personal luxury car with a bit of sportiness.

So does that make the Monte the original Knight Rider?

Where is Cort on this? Or Space for that matter? Space is our resident research expert.

Cort... I thought there would be at least someone on NMCOA who would know. Surprising.

I suppose we could try calling Chevy Customer Assistance. LOL. Give them a choice. Either tell us the origin of the knight emblem, or give all of us our Certificates of Authenticity! Those are their only options!

I'll try Google, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Most people who get the Tony Stewart grill, or the SLP grill for their 2000-2005, remove the knight's crest from the front grill. Mainly because you more or less have to for fit. It's one of those things that a lot of people would throw away after removing it. But you may get lucky and be able to find someone who still has theirs lying around somewhere.

If you have an '06 or '07 Monte, they didn't come with the badges. I know you can get the side emblems off ebay, as for a custom grill, for some reason I wanna say you've got an '06 or '07 (not sure though), you'd probably have to do it yourself as I don't know of any out there.

I thought I remember reading a while back, a member who bought a grill package for an Impala. And just didn't use the lower grill insert from the kit.
Or maybe not. Not 100% sure now. I know a few LT and LTZ owners who installed the stock SS grills into their cars and removed the bowtie.
