What I meant was that there are no aftermarket grills with the badge incorporated, there are a few different grills out there for the Monte's, just none with the badge.

Adding the badge to a honeycomb grill shouldn't be to extremely hard.

The Monte Carlo was released as direct competition to the Thunderbird.

The Thunderbird is a mythical creature, hence fiction.
A Knight is real and well know to be the slayer of many a fictional and non fictional creature.

Least that what I was told and remember to this day.

Chevy customer service has always been (or tried to be) helpful the 1,000 times I've called them.

The problem I run in to is the language barrier. They have a problem understanding my needs when I call.

Problem: You speak english. They speak, "I-don't-care-get-the-hell-off-my-phone-and-don't-bug-me-ese".

I can't say for sure, but I know Monte Carlo is a city in France or Italy. translated Monte Carlo literally means,"mount Charles" named after prince Charles. So i'm guessing it took some influence from that. Besides, it looks cool. One of the best street/strip cars of all time. I do however, wish my 2000 ss came stock with a 454 and rear wheel drive. Lol.

So far, near as I can tell, the knight's crest on our Montes shares some similarities to the Coat of Arms of Copernicus. Not a perfect match obviously. But I think the crest on our Montes may be a coat of arms created by GM specifically for the Chevy Monte Carlo. Designed to look like a coat of arms of a noble person. But not one that actually exists anywhere but in GM's R&D department.

My opinion... I think GM modified Copernicus' Coat of Arms to create the "Knight's Crest" on our cars.
