Default Key fob issue

I'm looking for a little help here. My key fob has gotten to where it only works to lock/unlock the car right after it's been shut off. If it's been off for more than a few minutes it won't work at all. I tried replacing the battery and relearning it to the car.

Thanks,
Jonathan

It's probably time to replace it. I know they're not supposed to "go bad," but mine stopped working entirely, even with a fresh battery. I know it's not the receiver in the car, because my wife's fob works just fine.

I see this is an older thread but I am having issues on my granddaughters 02 Monte Carlo keyless entry. I have found the receiver module under the upper front dash board was all distorted from the Texas heat, I believe it has failed and need a new one. But the part 15042696 is discontinued, do you all know anyone making replacement parts?
Thanks

if you want a used one from Canada I can ship. I’ve never see one go bad here. I’ve got a whole car I can part out.

That would be great, is it the same part number 15042969? And how much do you want for it? Plus how would I pay you?

I’ll have to go to the car and pull it to check the part number and then you can shoot me an offer. I can ship it COD and an email money transfer should work fine I’d think. I’ll even send the fobs that I have for that car if you’d like.

Default FOB Issue:

I have a 2000 Monte. My FOBs no longer lock the doors. Only unlock , and open the trunk. The dealer replaced the batteries. Didn't fix the problem. They surmized it was an electrical problem, and had the potential to be an expensive fix. Just living with it now
