Angry Just Great

So Someone backed into my monte.

I was headed to the beach last friday and I didnt have time to really clean clean my car so I took it to the Touch-less car wash(which meets my washing standards since I am extremely picky in cleaning car LOL). I know it doesnt make a car perfectly clean, I just wanted to knock of the pollen and loose dirt to make it look cleaner than it did before..

SO I pull in about 5 feet behind the person paying to go into the wash. About 30 sec later she starts backing up and bam.. I had about 3 sec to decide what to do. She was in a big new yukon, it was noisy so decided not to use the horn as she probably would have still hit me anyway. I decided just to though it in reverse and get the heck outa there. I did it so quick that I ended up putting it in park and not reverse since I was in drive. So all I ended up doing was revving it and not backing up.

Since it was private property the police couldn't do anything. But It happened to be a nice lady and she admitted 100% fault. Her reasoning was that she did not have the correct change to put in machine. (You can use coins, 1s 5s 10s, she had a 20). She said she didn't really look behind her and being in the big vehicle and me being in a car it would have been hard to see anyway. So I came out not paying anything as her insurance will pay for it.

But.. I will luck out well with this. I need new front bumper, im fine with that because it had many defects in and the huge gash on the passenger side so that will all go away. The hood looked horrible as it was riddled with rock chips. The clear on the hood was almost gone and had some failures. The hood will try and be repaired(if cant be repaired correctly they will put on a brand new one) and then repainted so that will all be gone. My fogs were kinda nasty looking, their are new ones included in the new bumper. I get new headlights, the old ones had many scratches and chips that Headlight restoration cant correct. So in sense almost all my cars major defects will be fixed at no charge to me LOL. I had always made a joke that I wouldn't mind someone just bumping me so I could get the repairs. But I was lucky that this is all that happened, as a wish like that could have had nasty consequences LOL.

But what irritates me the most is that I have a huge car show coming up June 11th and 12th in OC MD. That ive been so busy prepping for and now im going to be lucky to get the car back. They are hopping to have the car back to me the Thursday June 9th as I must set up for the car show friday June 10th. So ive got to get all the stuff done between now and this thursday afternoon June 2nd, but basically the car more or less wont be 100% ready for the show as planned. But should all be good for Monte Nationals

Sorry for the extensive reading.. Now for some pics. Not all the defects showed up since I used my phone, but you get the idea

Ouch! I'm glad everyone's ok, and the MC looks like it didn't get that badly damaged. It's probably different up close, since you mentioned that the damage was hard to see. Aside from the crack in the bumper and the hood getting pushed back, your MC fared quite well. But hey, you get a new bumper, headlight and possibly a new hood in the process..

Oh damn. Poor Monte. Fortunately most of it looks like you can buff it out after some TLC. You got lucky that SUV didn't do worse damage. Really sucks though, and the timing! Hopefully it will turn out alright.

Well it's not as bad as i thought it would be when i read the headline. Make sure they check the fender/door alignment to make sure that gap is the same if not it may rub down the road.

Thanks all. Ya what made me the most mad out of all of it was that it is the middle of car show season, like why couldn't it happen a month ago lol

Sucks to see, but looking at the bright side ya get a new front end outta it.

If you need a hood, I still have my stocker for sale.

That stinks! But at least it sounds like the lady was being very accomodating and sorry for the mis-happ. Hopefully next time she will be more cautious!!
