according to the history report the dealer showed me, there was nothing reported. i dont know alot about painting cars, but the chip was there when i bought it. maybe it was down to the metal, and the previous owner used touch up paint?

yeah, probably not. i dont even wanna know why its like that. its probably just gonna fall apart in the highway one day

those history reports arent really accurate. Not all fixes get reported.

Usually if a car is chipped it will look dull or will be down to metal.

When there is a chip and it is still shiny where the chip is usually means there is more than one layer of paint and clear. I would say that quarter panel has been painted at some point.

An easy way to tell would be to take it to a body shop and have them do a depth check. They will check a couple other panels then the quarter in question. The quarter should have alot more paint on it.

actually took it to a body shop today. they said it more than likey wasnt wrecked. said it was probably dinged, and fixed in the past, because in order to fix a ding on the quarter panel, they would basically have to take the car apart to get behind it, and paint a large area to blend.

they said i would be looking at $700 worth of work . i about crapped a brick.

im deff just gonna forget about the dings

then they said it looked like where 'bird droppings' (always makes me laugh) sat for a while, and the acid ate through the paint
