A couple of weeks ago I posted about my Monte not starting. I had suspected the ignition switch so I replaced it with a Dorman from Amazon.
All the strange issues have been solved. So we're back to normal.
I disassembled the old switch before I chucked it. There were 2 contacts that were burned. It probably would have been easy to file them but I have the new switch in now.
So, if your Monte is doing weird stuff like the cruise light flashing or the overhead console, radio, heater shutting off or the security message displaying intermittently, it could be a burned out ignition switch .
