If GM revived the Monte for one year, which gen would you want it to resemble?

If they made a retro car, why make it powerful and the fastest one out there, that would compete with corvette and camaro sales, and as much as we love the monte carlo, those will always sell more. Why not give it the ls3, and then make it high luxury. The original ones seemed to be the luxurious cars while the others were all business. 6th gen monte interiors, even not being as good as the european ones that year, make the 4th gen camaro interiors look like they are cardboard.

I hear ya!
The 6th Gen tribute to Dale Earnhardt should've had been RWD with a V8. Not FWD with a Supercharged V6. Also, a manual should've been offered.

You know at this point I would just be happy if they brought the Monte back. I see so many of them on the road they must have been a good seller for GM.

Oh well maybe they will some tine in the future before I forget why I liked them so much

I see lots of them too- mainly 6th Gens. I think I've only seen 2 or so 7th Gens in the time I've had my Monte. 5th Gens are rare as well. But there are 2 other 6th Gens in my neighborhood alone. One is just down the street! It's a grey SS (non Supercharged) and is probably either an '03 or an '04. I know it's not an '05 because it has the door bumper guards on it. The other I think is an LS like mine. That one I haven't seen up close though. That one's white. As for the other Gens, the 4th Gens I see every now and then, and they are usually suped up.

Down here I've seen every year Monte at least once. There are mostly 6th gens, a few 5th gens, some 7th, a bunch of 4th gens and when I see first and second gens drive by I become a road hazard until I lose sight of em. Not a common sight at all, but damn.

And of course every so often there will be an old lady driving one, beaten the crap out of it, and I will die a little inside.

Absolutely a 4th Gen like my 87 ls, ls6,and rwd. So I wouldn't have to work on my pos anymore I could just buy one.
