General Monte Carlo Talk Talk about the Monte Carlo. Does not have to be your Monte. Can include pics and games.

If GM revived the Monte for one year, which gen would you want it to resemble?

I wouldnt want them to recreate the 4th gen's look because thats what makes the 4 gens so special.
That's a great idea! I'm not much into 5th Gens as well (too Lumina like on the outside with a fine looking interior otherwise), but very respectable performers when done just right. They could design something entirely new, give it RWD, the windows from the 6th or 7th Gen, and it would be a hit.

I love the commercial! Thanks for linking it.

I think, judging by how they designed the 7th gens, if they were to give it a redesign the Monte just might go the way of the dodo. I think they should really stick strongly to its roots and for gods sake bring back the fender bulges! I mean, what happened? They were a signature thing... then they all but disappeared. The older gens are all rockin them and were smoking hot. They brought it back with gen 6 but it seemed to fade away again in 7th gen.

Or am I alone on this?

4th gen all the way. motor than can outrace a corvette and camaro this time around. make it a dale earndhart tribute. by tribute i mean badass motor with badass tranny and rear end. the tribute they did for 6th gen was just slap on stickers and badges . we need the c4 transmission (manual preferred) and something along the lines of a pontiac g8 gxp motor, t-tops, stock cowl hood, 3:42-3:73 rear. I HAVE SPOKEN

You know at this point I would just be happy if they brought the Monte back. I see so many of them on the road they must have been a good seller for GM.

Oh well maybe they will some tine in the future before I forget why I liked them so much

I guess we can hold out our hopes for a "50th" edition... maybe.

I think retro ques of a 4th gen, the swoopy side lines, rectangle up and down tails, and a square front, of course rwd, and an ls3 would be nice...low-mid 30k
