maybe its stupid, but what if you go to the junkyard and find a supercharged monte totaled, swap out the supercharger and pop it on to your LS, do you think it would work for the 3.4L, a "3.4L supercharged" perhaps. just wonderin.

 

Well, I'm not sure how the 3.4L is configured. But if I had to take a wild guess I would say no. Besides, if it would work the cost wouldn't be worth it.

it is a diffrent motor and the internals are diffrent on a non sc and sc so i would say it would not work. but you would be better off just buying the whole motor as a creat motor and replacing yours that way . or get teh whole motor and the computer.

 

The supercharger will not work on a 3.4L... Different block and entire setup. But, as Mickey noted, just pull the whole thing including the trans and wire harness and your in business..

The questionis, is it worth it for only 40 more HP?

 

with enough money, it's possible. I'm not saying it would cost a fortune, but not only would you need to do quite a bit of fabrication, it would be suggested that you upgrade your internals as well. All in all, you'd be better served by swapping in a blown 3.8

wow, thanks guys. maybe perhaps an aftermarket supercharger. hey how much would it run me to get a hypertech reprogrammer for my 04 ls and were can i get it.

 

no matter if you get the oem or an aftermarket supercharger, it's gonna be a custom setup either way you slice it. Might as well make it easy on yourself and swap in a blown 3800 and go from there. Hypertech doesn't make a programmer for the LS, you'd have to use DHP
