I agree with replacing everything, i am in the process of doing everything you all have mentioned. No matter how much it cost, i cant seeem to step away. I wish you luck, there are tons of used Montes out there to choose from though, if you choose to come back to the darkside

 

As of now the time frame is asap, the vehicle my buddy loaned me is about to die. If its an easy fix then ill have until the end of the month till this thing has to be ready to drive from houston to atlanta. I'm gonna rock the front hubs for now, theyre not too bad but will need replacing once im there, i picked up a full size spare and im gonna get some more used tires. Hopefully they last long enough to get some new ones.

Rockers and HV3 will set me back about 500, GT2 alone is 325, I dont really care is it has a bad idle, as long as it runs lol. I'm thinking GT2 now and if time and budget allow toss an HV3 in.

Well the loaner is running decentish again. So ive got awhile to play with the monte. Ive gotta buy a hitch kit for it and 2 used tires and thats gonna leave me with about 200-300. Ive got some side work lined up so that number should increase. Right now im looking at just the hv3, but im gonna hold off and see how much more i can get. Now i know the GT2 throws codes at idle and they reccomend a tune to run it properly. What kind gains and risks will i he looking at if i just toss it in with the stock tune?

 

You will probably stall out the car on a stock tune. Also the A/F ratio could be really off. For $100 you could at least try a canned tune from a company. Worth it to at least run the car safer.

 

Don't get rid of the monte! worst mistake I ever made!

 

Got everything working, had a minor oil leak at the valve cover but it seems to have fixed itself. Went to go drop off the truck my buddy loaned me and the god damn radiator busted, coming out at a good rate where the metal meets plastic, about 3 inches below the upper hose

Hopefully this thing will get tired of eating money soon. I got a kid on the way and i can only spoil one of the two lol.
