WOW! We have a girl on this site! Maybe if we could get some of her friends to join we could add an online dating service thread. How about it moderators? How often do we find women and MC's together? I haven't been this excited since the first time I didn't have to take my sister to the prom just to have a date!

LOL to prom! The lack of women on the site... well car forum sites in general, is what made me throw that joke up their earlier. I hope your doing the same with the dating service thread.... That's what craigslist is for.
Well, if people stop posted pics of half naked women, maybe more females will post here. I've been a member for awile now and don't come here that often just for that fact - it's degrading and makes me uncomfortable. I get more respect from my 4.0 Mustang forum.

Sticker on mine was $31,000.... I got it - with a 5yr 75k mile GM Major Guard extended warranty - out the door for $26k... financed at 3.9% - and monthly payments are around $400.

It sounds like you a got a good deal considering that you bought a new current year model at the beginning of a model year when their usually aren't many rebates or incentives out. I just talked to a fleet manager at a dealer today and he told me that it wouldn't be unlikely for me to be able to negotiate a price of around $22,000 for a near-loaded '06 SS. He has 4 on his lot (3 of the 4 have been there since March of this year) and he said that the dealer has to pay a monthly fee just to keep them on the lot and GM wont let them order as many new '07's if the '06 models aren't sold, so they are putting ALL of their factory-to-dealer money (Red Tag money in other words) on them just to sweeten the deal enough to sell them before Jan 1, 2007 when even less people will want them because they'll officially be brand new 1 year old cars. I still don't know if I'll be able to get a sub-$350 payment though without putting any money down (which I don't plan on doing). The fleet manager suggested waiting until the end of this month when GM brings out the new incentives to see if they may just offer 0% financing or increase the current rebates on the 06's. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Did you put any money down 06MonteSS?

My '06 LTZ was a leased car when I got it with 10,000 miles on the odometer.

The dealer still wanted $30,000 for a new '06 with zero miles. This was for an SS. A 3LT they had was still right at $26,000. This was in september when I found out UPS employees could get a discount on new GM cars/trucks so I started looking seriously for an '06 Monte.

I was interested in an '06 cause I own an '86 LS that I've had for about 10 years now.

But with $3500 down my payments are around $260 per month. But I also bought an extended warranty which I'm told is equal to a new car warranty. (covers everything but a meteor striking the car in the middle of a snow storm in july I'm told)

First I wanted an '06 Monte very bad. But if anything I do not want a monthly car payment. Haven't had one since 1986 when I was 28 years old. Driving the 2LT we rented to travel to Nashville for the Monte Nats plus the 3LT, SS, my LTZ, the other 3LT swayed me into buying the car. Driving the Monte is GREAT! (plus it turns some heads)

If you want an '06 Monte perhaps a used one would suit you better?

RJ, what was the used sale price of your car? Sounds like 15k?

Yeah, I actually ordered mine the first week of October 2005, and I picked it up on November 23rd 2005... dealers around here didn't even have them yet, hence why I had to order one. Hell, I never even sat in it or drove it until I was driving it home

Yeah I did, but I don't remember how much... actually, thinking back on it now, the $26,685 was the employee price that I was able to get (cuz my mother-in-law is a retired GM employee), minus another $1,500 for incentives I received, minus I think it was around $2,600 I put down... then add $1,150 for the extended warranty and about $1,425 for taxes, and the total out the door was around $25,159.

Actually I don't know?

When I got to the dealer saturday morning to look the 3LT and my LTZ over they handed me two pieces of paper with the price for each Monte on them.

I did have an issue with the dealer in that they didn't mention to me the extended warranty had a $100 deductable each and every time I used it, UNTIL.... I was signing the papers to take the car home. (thank you 06MonteSS for the advice)

The service manager and I went a couple rounds over this. He wouldn't budge. Told me I should have been more careful.

When I got fed up and insisted the dealership owner call me back, gee I get a call from the service manager (not the owner) telling me they want to "Adjust" the extended warranty for me with no (zero, zip) changes in coverage.

They even signed a paper stating these conditions.

[:@] Oooohhhhhh...i hate those friggin' crooked bastards!!!!! I used to sell cars and i was not liked by managers because I was completely honest with customers and told them that they should not buy certain cars because I know them to be no good.

I HATE that they try to do that!

No problem RJ.. and NICE!!! glad to see it worked out and you got what you were supposed to. Now, don't lose your copy of that signed paper! ...cuz it can easily disappear on their end.

I would actually make a couple copies of it... keep one in your house for safe keeping, and keep one in the glovebox of your car - so when it goes in for service, if there's ever a question about your warranty coverage/deductible and they can't find their copy of that "adjustment" - you can just pull it right out of the glove box and say - "Here ya go!"....

I did that with my warranty card - I have one in my wallet, one stapled to my owners manual in the glovebox, and one at home.

Believe me I wasn't happy at all about this. My family was ferious over it. They even went back to the dealer with me once to try and convince them to adjust this extended warranty but it did no good.

Then a couple weeks later I called to find out about getting a couple stone chips fixed on the hood they'd promised to fix and the service manager answered. That's when we had a few more words over the extended warranty again and my final reply to him was I wanted to speak with the dealership owner.

Another great idea.
