Default RE: Hood Protector

Met a guy at the 2007 Montes@MIS event with an '03 SS clone who had one of the protectors like Amy posted. He swore by it.

I have to agree it's not every day you see a Monte with one of them but it actually looked pretty good on this guy's Monte.

If I were to buy a hood protector or front end bra (different items here) the hood protector ONLY covers the hood so only it is protected. The bra covers the entire front of the car os everything (mostly) is protected versus just the hood.

Most cars have paint damage to thefront from debri being thrown at it. Not all hoodshave paintdamage.

With the '00-07 Monte having a sloping nose to it, I'd guess most of them have paint damage to the hood.

I guess you really wouldnt need one if your a smart driver. Heres some things ive learned.
1. If you live on gravel, pull over when meeting someone.
2. Even on highways, dont follow semis.

Yours looks better black on black. I don't think it looks great on mine but in terms of stone chips and less bugs in the summer on your windshield it really helps. Plus I can take it off at anytime.

Is that made out of molded plastic or vinyl?

definitely looks better with the black on black, almost blends right in. i'm on the fence on getting one of these since tony's my DD. being that they're pretty inexpensive i might just get one and put it on and decide. i do like the idea of using when i go on long highway trips to protect it.

hmmm owning a black car... and seeing that... making me think a little more about it.

although my hood is already beyond horrible looking. I try to stay far away from close-up shots when taking pictures of my car :P

Plastic I believe. I only issue I've had is the rubber mounts that stick to your car. I've had 2 fall off over the past 3 years. I had the dealership install mine when I purchased the car so maybe they didn't clean the surface off properly first.
