My '02 has about 237,000 on it and right now I use Pennzoil semi synthetic because It's easy to come by working at a Chrysler shop. I use a BG premium oil change kit every few oil changes which includes an oil additive and a fuel additive. It seems like it helped the engine run smoother and it improved my gas mileage. Once I get a pretty bad oil leak fixed I plan on making the switch to Mobil 1. When I bought my '98 Ram it seemed really sludgy so I ran what I think is called BG 55k through it and it worked great. Runs like brand new(sorta). I don't remember exactly but I think you pour it into the crankcase or something like that and hold it at 1500 RPMs for 10 minutes.

Cool nice to see a fellow Chrysler tech! You must be talking about the EPR kit from BG. Stuff works great! I use it in my Monte about every 4th oil change. You can shine a light into my oil fill hole and it will blind you it's so clean!

Bought an 05 LT last week with 126k+ on it. Instantly bonded with the vehicle. Very easy and fun to drive. Just a few things wrong with it: trouble starting due to passlock (I think), a.b.s needs work and a faint grinding noise when I accelerate. Still, it's a very fun car to drive. Hope to keep it for years and eventually install a SC from the SS model. Pretty cheap on eBay, I see.

My car now has over 190,000 miles, and it still runs as nicely as the day I bought it. Actually, because it has a new, reinforced upper and lower intake manifold, it now performs even better in some regards. I generally follow the owner's manual, and I plan on pushing my vehicle to at least 250,000 miles, if not 300,000 miles. Nevertheless, I still welcome other owners' input.
I now have over 238,000 miles on my '02 Monte Carlo SS. I have also switched to full synthetic oil, currently Royal Purple, but will switch to Walmart's store brand of synthetic oil. I try to use only Purolator or Mobil 1 oil filters. I have since installed new struts, springs, tie rods, control arms with ball joint assemblies, and the vehicle continues to run like a well-oiled machine.

Default Mileage Update

Currently have 415,000 on my '03 SS (35,000 miles on rebuild, original trans). I plan on it lasting at least until I graduate in a few years. Its been taking a beating on the streets of Columbus for the past two years...the paint could definitely use some TLC, but mechanically sound nonetheless!

225K! Engine has never been opened. Only engine problem has been a cracked exhaust manifold. Replaced the original plugs and wires at 220K. Just change the oil and filters. I use Mobil 1 oil.
