Unhappy High Beam Lights Not Working Normally

I've a 2000 Monte Carlo, 106K miles, with 3.4 engine. The high beams lights are not working when activated but works when I hold the turn signal handle without letting go of it. Has any of you had this problem with your Monte Carlo? If so, how did you resolve it? Could it be some switch going bad or a shortage? Thanks in advance for any assistance!

You should check this thread -- it has a lot of solutions for simple or common problems; https://montecarloforum.com/forum/ge...54/#post350520

Here's for the lights;

Problem: My headlights don’t work or my high beams won’t stay on

Like cause: Bad multifunction switch (MFS)

Temporary solution: Jiggle the MFS and you should be able to get the lights to work again. I stress that this is a temporary solution and should only be used to get the lights back on to drive somewhere to get it fixed.

Permanent solution: Replace the MFS (I advise against junkyard replacements for this repair).

Prevention: nothing

Sorry I dont have an answer for you. I have the same problem. I used to love this car but I am about sick of all it's "issues" and it doesn't seem like anyone at the dealership knows anything either. I'm sick of paying them hundreds of dollars per trip for "issues" they can't fix. IMO they should refund your money when their "Diagnostics" DON'T DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. Someone on here WILL HAVE AN ANSWER for us eventually. These folks on here are really great. After hundreds of dollars being spent trying to fix my water leakage problem to no avail (thanks,I mean no thanks Mr. Goodwrench) I finally found these wonderful people who told me how to fix it my darn self! I have ALWAYS been a Chevy girl but this Monte of mine is making me rethink my position on that.
