2006 Monte, 99k. Was cleaning inside today. got to gear shifter and i had some dust in the line where the shifter slides up n down into gear. Pulled shifter all the way down to clean out completely. Got ready to put back in park, wouldnt budge. Did the shift lock mechanism, n unlocked and put bback in park, But on Dash panel it registers my car is still in gear 1??? Car wont start. Tried shift unlock thing again, no go! Pulled wiring harness from shifter out n put back in, still register gear 1 on dash. Unhooked battery terminal for 1hr, still no go!! HELP ME PLEASE!!
