Default hello every1

newbie here so go easy on me. i have a 99 monte carlo z34 and i'm having a little bit of a problem. i've read about the security light issue on here already but nothing quit like this. the car starts and runs fine but when you turn it off the security light stays on but goes off when you start the car. you can still make the alarm go off with the keyless entry but the horn doesn't blow when you try to arm it. so any input would be appreciated.

i tried both of those and even tried using the other key but still no avail but i'm going to try and pull off the batt. cables to reset it and see if that works.
