headers not fitting

Default headers not fitting

edelbrock header#68793..bought them and will not fit on the left side.tryed from bottom taking everything apart and will not get passed the steering column?advice?seems will no tfit on either side.

have you tried taking it in from the top?
most of those will sit in place if you take it in from the top and set it in to the block first. and get your first bolts started.

Also there are certin ones that you used to have to take the steering cloum out to get them in but after that they would sit in there fine.

how we used to do it is to take the motor mounts loose and then jack up the motor this will give you some extra room between the fram and the motor so the header do get bound up so bad and you could wiggel it in to place.

yeah i do no envy you at all right nwo I hated working on headders. but once in they should fit good and be a nice gain for ya.

if you can take a photo of the car so we can see it. Might see something you havent in there. (fresh eyes )

yes i found some other instructions now that say you have to remove the steering column..so im going to try that today..ye the box says "easy installation"lmao not really lol i just had to sleep over the night and think it over because i was very frustrated took me 7 hours to take the headers off and trying to put the new ones in?things wasnt happening right at all..ill take pics asap;

i forget what year it was the steering shaft ran threw the headders. so you had to actually run the steering shaft thre the front tube on the headder and then the thing would not fit if you did it after the ehader was bolted in . IT was a PITA!!!!!!!!!

it looks like it will fit just the fat part of the header wont clear the column?and whe i take it apart it seems it would clear the column fine?so now what dont even try?great great..now wat do i do man
