I don't think the 2004 Monte's have chips. Pretty sure the entire PCM would have to be re-programmed. Either way, it wouldn't be stock.

That sounds ridiculous too, but its a pretty good answer!
Oh yeah. I forgot about that. My junior edition has all the decals on it. Plus I have the embroidered front mats in my car right now too. Therefore I should be running a good 300 horsepower.

On a similar note. I remember that "tornado" thing they used to advertise on infomercials. That little piece of metal you were supposed to jam inside your air intake. It was supposed to make the air inside your air intake swirl around like a tornado, and give you extra horsepower. In reality, it didn't do anything but cost you money and put an obstruction in your air intake hose. Perhaps that dale jr edition owner you met has one of them installed?
