Default Got to drive a 7th gen!

So I've long been considering my path forward as cars are concerned, even recently having decided that after this year, I'm going to halt most of my non-maintenance Monte expenses until after I graduate. I'm at the point where I'm beginning to consider switching to a different car come graduation - something with lower miles and perhaps a bit newer. On that note, I was lucky enough to happen across a really nice 2007 Monte SS at a nearby dealership and was given the opportunity to take it out for a test drive.

I had a lot of fun, and it's reinforcing the idea in the back of my mind that my next car will be a Monte too

I thought the transmission and steering definitely felt smoother than my aging 6th gen. That said, I was surprised to discover that despite the increased speed/horsepower/torque/etc, it felt like the throttle response of my 3800 was better. Maybe it was just that specific car though.

Anyway, the point is: Monte Carlos are awesome, and I hope to keep driving them for years to come

It's because the newer cars have an electronic throttle body. Your gas pedal sends a signal to the computer telling the computer how far down your foot is, then the computer tells the TB how much to open. If it doesn't think you should have as much power as you are asking for, the computer can limit you.

I hate not having the throttle plate attached to the gas pedal. It is extremely noticeable to me.

Also, when I drive my parent's 06SS, I just can't wait until next year I leave my 200HP cars behind and get into the 300 bracket lol

I know that feeling also. MY Monte is my pride and Joy. And she's fast enough. Love the way she looks. I had my wife drive her around the block and come back into the garage. I have never seen my car in motion before. DAMN she looked great coming down the street and into the garage! That made my day BIG TIME !

I am gonna own my 6th for years to come! But I would love to test drive a 7th generation. I am gonna start to fix a lot so it will be around for years and years. I let one of my friends drive the Monte one time, and I really liked how it looked when it drove around the parking lot.
