It is for the FRONT valve cover. You have NO IDEA. I had it done so I know. More bad internet information...

All the recall paper work states front only, no mention of the back and others have had this done and it's been just the front.

How does the replacement valve cover look? Is it the same style as the one it replaces, or just a plain cheap looking cover? If someone could post a picture of it, that would be great.

Question

So no one who has had this recall done can post a picture or at least describe what the replacement cover looks like? Is it like the original cover or a cheap looking piece of junk?

We had a separate thread on that recall, this thread was originally for the first oil fire recall from years ago.

Here's a picture from that thread:

So, now that I have had this recall work done, is there any reason why I shouldn't put the "beauty cover" back on?

Why did they make it look like a junk yard engine? Is there anything we can do about it? It takes away the clean engine look!

I took my cover off a lone time ago and never put it back on. I think the PRJ plug wires prohibited it the way I routed them...

No biggie for me, but I would lose a red valve cover which I won't stand for...

Gene 53, I had the recall done today, and took the cover off so I wouldn't loose it. The service guy told me that the cover won't fit the new valve cover. I just got hom so I haven't tried to fit it yet.
