yeah i give you tons of ideas for a small block chevy. but i have some questions for you .
1. how much are you looking to spend on this motor?
2. is it somethign your goign to pull out of the car and rebuild? or try and work on it and drive it at the same time?
3 why do you need a posi rear end now? there is a ton of other things that you can do to make your car faster then it is now and never need a posi in it to feel thsi diffrence. Sure eventually it is a good idea to think of it. but for the first think for hte car? nah i think i would worry more abotu making sure the car is tuned the best i can, the ing. system is in great sahpe and the tranny is in the best shape i coudl make it on a limited budget.

dont get me wrong i dont mind helpin you out but we have to know what you want also

other wise i could tell you to get blower and nitro kit then you have power ther also

a 305 h.o. is a good motor theres plenty of things you can do for performance to your car!
cam, carb, intake, headers, dual exhaust, heads and it goes on and on
what are you looking for performance wise from your car ?
btw most 87-88 ss came stock with limited slip diff with 3.73 gears

thanx.. but im looking for specific parts that people actually using.. n no im not keeping it emissions legal.... those laws arent really enforced around here.. n if they are they give u only a warning.. my friend had a 350 smb s10 with straight pipes and was told to change it.. for like 2 months from the liason officer at school.. that was last year.. still not changed!

well alot of this is going to depend on what kind of budget you have. I have built 11 second cars and I have built 14 second cars. It will all ultimatly depend on what ya can afford. Let us know what kind of budget you have and I am sure we will all be able to chime in on suggested parts. There is such a varient on prices of stuff it is hard to shoot options at ya without knowing it.

for that kind of cash i would start saving up and get some money head. then i would start looking at a set of heads, cab and intake combo that are offer threw eddel brock and holley, if you look at those kits they are set up to add some h.p. for you and still be matched. but i would get the idea of what you want for a cam first to make sure you match it all threw out the motor.

as far as a quick thing to get and make some diffrence. would be a set of headders and good pipes to let it breath.
they should beabel to be found for under 200.00
also keep in mind you have a Small block chevy.
305,307,350 etc.... are the same dementions on most of the parts they are interchangabel.
so parts arent to bad.

If you're looking for Monte specific parts try Mike at Mike's Monte (he has a web site)

On aftermarket oarts you can't locate through a parts store (I happen to like NAPA) try Summit Racing. I can tellyou I have found if you do a little shopping between Summit and Jeg's there are a lot oftimesSummit is the cheaper of the two. I've heard either place will price match someone else but I've never tried it?

I did just yesterday buy a new custom fit WOLF car cover from Summit that I got $20 cheaper then I could get from the people who make the WOLF car covers. Their price was $15 shipped for the cove I wanted. Summit's price shipped to my door was $130.
