yeah, that 350 might make him happy after driving around with that slow *** thing. im not being rude here at all, but man LOL i could have beat my cutlass on a tricycle with a flat tire. i though i was getting some burly monster V8... HAHA, was i WRONG!
but those 305's are built as the economy/luxury engine, and they are pretty strong. the only reason the one i had was rebuilt, was because, the guy who had it before me gave it to his daugter and she didnt know what and oil change was sooo... but other than that, it was still strong at over 300,000 miles. but it was rusting through the floor, seriously, where your feet go on the floor, if you looked under the car all you could see was that foam stuff they put under the carpet. so someone else is taking over the job of fixing it... well they think they are.

i also had a cutlass but the motor in yours should have been the same as the one in mine. the rocket 307. in regular cutlass trim making an awesome 140hp. the 442s had the hot cam and were like 160-170hp but they had the always desired 8.5 rear in them. that and the cutlass is way heavier then the montes. and yes 305 is a 5.0 its just the metric conversion from cubic inches to liters. and i doubt that a 3L shadow would take a 5.0 the guy probably wasnt racing. the 5.0 mustangs with a stick and 3.70s or 4.11s are pretty good for street fights for a stock car.

the tempo i was talking about was mine and i was saying the tempo was faster by far. i dont know what engine was in the tempo but it was a 4 banger. did i say shadow? sorry. but yeah it was the 305 5.0 for sure maybe it was swapped out before. i didnt think it was but it had to have been.
EDIT:
okay, im talking to the person i got the car from and they tell me the motor was swapped at 170,000 so the 300,000 i said wasnt original. there was carb work, trans work, some more work, so on.

the shadow comment was for the guy earlier in the thread. im sure your tempo was faster than the cutlass. the gutless was terrible the only thing that was worse in the world of v8 gbodies was the 301 grand prix.

well stay away from the ones with the 301 pontiac motor in them they are complete dogs. maybe 130 horse on a good day. then again if you find it with a straight body and frame buy it and toss the 301 and build a huge poncho motor. 455+ inches.
