Question Help A Friend: 2008 Pontiac G6 GXP

Price: $14,777
Mileage: 44,375
Body Style: Coupe
Exterior Color: Black
Interior Color: Black Leather
Engine: 3.6L V6
Transmission: AUTO 6SPD
Doors: 2
Power: 252 bhp @ 6300 rpm
Torque: 251 lb-ft @ 3200 rpm

Car & Driver TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 6.0 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 16.2 sec
Street start, 5–60 mph: 6.3 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 14.7 sec @ 96 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 115 mph
Braking, 70–0 mph: 158 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.82 g
EPA city/highway driving: 17/26 mpg
C/D observed: 23 mpg

It's loaded, except, it doesn't have the terrible "street package" and it looks pretty damn nice if you ask me, but I've never really seen one, been in one, driven one, anything. I wanted to ask here to see if any one else has because I'd love to be able to help him out.

He wants something newer, low miles, fun and sporty to drive, and good on gas mileage. What do you guys/gals think?

I've read a few reviews, and besides people thinking the style is over the top, mostly on the "street package" equipped ones, the interior is made with cheap plastic, it's a little floaty in corners, but it's a great cruiser.

Here are some pictures...

Thanks for the help everyone!

I like the Pontiac looks of the front, but the rear is butt ugly.

Here is 1 other pic that I found of a GXP like the one for sale. It's not the same one, but I thought it was a nice enough picture of one.

Hi `Ted,
It's a beautiful Pontiac, but I'd personally rather have a Monte Carlo V8 SS likes yours 4-Sure.
It's also great that you are helping your friend, cause a good friend is more precious then `GOLD : )
I do like the interior, but also do not like the rear...I like these factory Mod's

Thanks, I told him about the Monte, which he loves, but he'd only want the SS trim. He just gets squirmish when I tell him about my dismal gas mileage. lol

I really like those cars, although I haven't driven one myself, and to be honest, I kind of like the hideous giant wing on the street appearance package. Really sets the car apart from anything else on the road.

And 252 HP in such a small car would be fun fun fun.

Well I definitely disagree about the huge "hammerhead" wing (I've been doing my research, lol), I do agree on the performance. Hell, the 0-60 time is damn near LS4 Monte territory.

I think a spoiler like this looks much better...

or maybe like this...

I don't think that would be his deciding factor though... lol

Thanks again for the tips.

It's just that so many cars on the road today look like other cars and it's getting hard to tell between them. The GTP definitely stood out. I like that in a car.

Corrected, and I agree. It's an attractive car. I just don't know if I should recommend it based on not knowing a whole lot about it.
I've been searching through the G6 boards trying to read as much as possible.
