Normally if you disconnect the battery and step on the brake pedal for a couple of minutes the computer should reset.

I hear the 30 minute thing alot, but I have never had any better luck with disconnecting it for 30 minutes than I have had with doing 5.

Also if it is your brake and trac light check your brake fluid because that happened to me about a year ago because my pads were so old on my car. so maybe it was just timming that it happened when you put your new intake on.

Duane is on the money on this. It takes 30 min for the PCM to reset on the 00+. Just do yourself a favor by disconnecting the battery, make a Jacks pizza, eat some pizza and go back and reconnect it.

Different on the 97s? or the same. Will come in handy if I ever have to reset my computer. Havent had this car long enough but my old ford pickup was another story.

Same here, don't know on the 5th gens. I can't see where it would hurt to do 30 min as long as you can accomplish something else while waiting.

When I have time projects like this I usually get the dishes and vacuuming out of the way while waiting. Gives me a good sence of accomplishment.
