Rick, i have to say that is freaking hilarious...also, you poor people... with them newer cars they are constantly trying to find ways to make it so that the base horsepower is slightly lower so that the fuel economy is slightly higher... i prefer back in the 70s and 80s when it was all about power... end of story... lol

What's an "Emulaltor"?

And, I would think that a little bit more horse power would carry the weight more easily, thus making the car a little more Fuel Efficient. It's not like that? It works the other way?

Read some of Craig's responses he's posted in other threads.

Cars & trucks are mandated by government standards. And Insurance has their hands around the governments "Private Parts" so they can have their own way.

Changing the horsepower/torque output of your vehicle as long as it remains within standards isn't doing anything wrong.

And any state that mandates E-check is only stealing money from the pockets of the consumers cause as far as I know there's still no evidence E-check works.

ERROR...ERROR...There was nothing about powerfor cars made after 1972 and through all of the 80's.

You must be young. Cars of the 90's and 2000's have way more power poundfor pound than the outrageous statementyou made. LOL

Cars of the 70's and 80's were stuffed with so much power robbing emissions, very few to none had over 200 hp.

After 1992 or so when the gubment lifted a lot of restrictions, it was normal for most cars and trucks to have over 200 hp.

AMEN to that there are a ton of todays cars (grocery gettters) that are faster than the 70s so-called Muscle performance and the 80s was definitly a sad time in our automotive history thanks to legislation... thanks to that a stock 80s corvette wouldn't stand a chance against a superchaged L67 W bodied car. just looking at 1/4 mile times. (not many 80s vettes stay stock and are probably faster now)

these are excited times that rival the Muscle car Era there are so many high horsepower technology filled cars that out perform any stock muscle car in every way...thank you for progress and our every changing automotive technolgy. I mean to get a little V6 to put out 70s big block power how cool is that?

Yes, these are way more exciting times than the 70's and 80's when it comes to horse power.

Unless you were fortunate to own a Grand National or other rare beast, tecnology has taken modern cars to a level never known before.

Removing the U-bend is not a poor excuse to find horsepower, it is nothing more than a massive design flaw.

Just buy the parts yourself, and take it to your "local" garage and have it put in. Stay away from the dealers or the chains, as most of them will refuse to do any performance mods. The little guys will do almost anything for a buck.

Oh, I need to show this to my mom. Her new truck "only" has a 6 in it, she doesn't NEED an 8 we do all her heavy pulling (hay hauling) anyway with the diesel. She acts like it's a little baby, I keep telling her that 6 has as much ormore umph than her old '71 351. A lot has to do with the rear end and tranny too.

If this were 100% true, NO ONE would be stuffing their garages with 4th gen Montes.
Since mines not worth keeping........ anyone got a Hugo they want to trade? Okay, since my Monte isn't an SS (like so many want) I'll throw in a tank of gas as part of the trade.
Oh, wait!! I just said: "(Like so many want)."
No one wants these cars....... remember?
