My 2000 SS is my DD and has 120k on it. My commute to the base is about 20 miles. Now I'm a decent mechanic, and I do baby my car in how i drive and maintain it, but i still almost fear every mile i put on it. Its a reliability issue, my CV axles averaging about 5k miles, alternators around 7k, electronic issues left and right and starters 15k or so. Thatll go in a different thread a different day though.
But, like OP said, one can feel bad about driving a lot. I just have different reasons.
I want to keep it new but all my driving just wears the car out

I agree 100%. I just picked up a '02 SS Pace Car with 23,000 miles on it. The previous owner never had it in snow and always stored it inside. I bought it for a daily driver to enjoy it. I don't think he wanted me to be doing that but he said I can do what ever I wanted to it when it was mine!

We've put just over 7,000 miles on the Pace car since we got it last may. I love driving the car but hate putting the miles on it.

Since 1996 I've put 40,000 miles on my '86 LS Monte. I love driving this car. Wish the jerk I got it from hadn't abused it. He put 160,000 miles on the car.

I will say that I hate to drive my car during bad weather, especially during the winter. Unfortunately my Monte is my driver and my only car that I have. What I hate is that in the almost 9 years I've had her is how much she's deteriorated and I can't afford to restore her at this point in time. What makes me feel even worse is that she was my grandfather's car and I am almost certain that I won't be able to get to complete a restoration on her before he passes away. Just knowing that he knows how bad the car's gotten makes me feel horrible every day.
