Evap and Tranny Codes - Worth keeping.
I want to hear from Monte-Forum Members who may have been in the same boat I'm in right now.
I have a clean 04 LS with 118,000 Miles on it at the present time. This car has had a good deal of work done to keep it nice.
Engine Lower Intake Gaskets - Done - FelPro Performance Gaskets.
Rear Struts
New Brakes - Calipers and Rotors.
O-2 Sensors.
A/C Condenser.
Inst. Cluster step motors for all gauges.
Multi-function Lever - Turn Sigs and Wiper - New.
Front Wheel Hub Bearings - New.
Fog Lights added.
Tie Rod Ends.
Recommended Maintenance Items done as scheduled.
No dents - Never hit.
The Computer keeps throwing 5 Codes.
1) PO-446 ENG $10 Evap Emis Sys Vent Cont Circ - Current History MIL
2) PO-520 ENG $10 Eng Oil Press Sensor Circuit Malfunction History
3) P1811 ENG/TRANS $10 Maximum Adapt and Long Shift. History
4) PO-446 *MOD* $10 Evap Emis Vent Control Circ - Confirmed
5) PO-446 *MOD* $10 Evap Emis Vent Control Circ - Pending
I think the EVAP related codes can be fixed by replacing the whole Evap Syst components: Charcoal Canister and Vent Solenoid, Eng Mounted Purge Valve and Solenoid and related plug-'n-play Evap parts.
Parts and Labor: $580
I could get a youngster who can wrench to help me and do it for under 3-Bills.
That PO-520 and P1811 is what's scaring me.
520 One place said: "It might be just the Oil Pressure Sensor."
Chevy wouldn't tell me **** unless I pop for a $250 test, ... to know for sure.
1811 Manager at local AAMCO said I'd better get the 4T65E Tranny rebuilt before doing anything else.
His estimate to fix it is 27-28 Hundred bucks.
It's clean.
Runs strong.
I love it and want to keep it.
Should I have the tranny done or am I headed for more trouble than it's worth.
What would you do in my shoes?

The p1811 is a common code, how does the tranny shift? Does it slip? We replace the pressure solenoid and most of the time problem goes away. However your at AAMCO and first thing on there mind is to suck 3grand from your bank account for a rebuilt tranny. Take to another shop if you can.
