They pretty much run the same engines.
97-07 base N/A 3800 will be the same as yours.
99-04 ran the same M90 Supercharged engine found in the 04 and 05Monte's.
05-07 received the upgraded Gen V M90 which gave 20 extra hp.
It is also speculated that the reason that the 04-05 Monte's received the Supercharged engine is because GM wanted to clear them out from the Pontiac division to use the upgraded blower on the 05-07's.
