Default ELM 327 bluetooth OBD2

Anyone have issues with these? I got one and it can't connect to the ECU. I tried it in my mom's jeep patriot and it connects right away

I use one and no issues. I have it paired to my laptop. It can read my Monte and my Grand Am just fine.

I have one I bought a while ago. I should try it and I will post back to see if it works.

I suppose the next question is what program are you using?
ODB-II is not 100% the same. There are other "standards" in there. ODB-II is actually the communication protocol.
The connecting issue could be just the application.

Also, do any lights on the ELM activate? Such as my Grand Am's connector under the dash can be touchy and sometimes not connect and I have to wiggle it.

what brand of obd2 scanner are you using? I have an unbranded one but I have heard that its known for not working on chevys. I have a friend here that has a vgate scantool and it works on any car no problem. I wonder if this is a known issue for some of these cheaper ones. I was thinking about just paying $40 for the plx kiwi as I have used one of those on my car.

you might have to double check the bluetooth settings, or maybe the app settings, you might have to check advance settings or something like that
