Hey folks, about a year ago I bought a 2000 SS. Been a great car, but now I am having an electrical issue, something that my husband knows nothing about. It started a month ago when I ran my battery flat. I left the key turned on (for air movement) while in the pharmacy drive thru, for perhaps five minutes. I figured the battery was just bad, it was an old Everstart that the car came with. So, I replaced the battery and all was well with the world. Now, the new battery is flat, and what is worse, it won't jump start, and when I pull the head light **** or try to roll the windows down I hear a crackling noise through the speakers. Very strange. I can't even get it to a shop at this point without a tow, what in the world could be going on??

Thanks for any suggestions. Hopefully someone here has had this problem.

Ok.... Getting even more strange. Switched to a different battery and turned off the factory radio. The car will start now and the crackling noise is gone. I guess it is in the radio??
