I don't know about the VIN, but I can tell you that the dealership where I bought my 06 SS has an 04 Intimidator, 32,600 miles, GM-certified warranty, extremely nice but not mint. Asking price is$19,995...FYI. I looked at it, butchose the 06.
They can take the VIN and look up the original invoice. The invoice will have an Earnhart package listed that will include badging and the gauge cluster. I beleive the package was $2500 or so.
My Dale Jr. edition has a sticker on the driver's door and door jamb identifying it as well.
If you buy it, try getting the cert. of authenticity from GM through a dealership. If it doesn't already have it. The cert. will have the VIN of the car printed on it.
