Dump Truck Debris Dented Hy HOOD!!!

I am so pissed right now I think my blood pressure is going thru the roof. My Monte's hood was flawless until 45 minutes ago when a blue-colored piece of crap bounced off a dump truck and onto my hood. THe indentation is clearly visible when the sun hits it and so is the blue scrape. The frickin truck was goin the opposite direction so i don't know who's it was.

Sorry to hear that, man. Too bad you weren't able to at least get the name on the side of the truck. Do you plan on fixing it out of pocket, or going through insurance?

I had a two by four hit my left headlight and dent and scratch the hood, while back. a car infront to the right ran over it and the wheel sent it flying. The wood came off of a trailer full of furniture. I had everyones License plate info, but my insurance said they cant get them to pay it, but it was covered under my comprehensive so $100 deductible and two days in the shop and car was like new.

Hi Shannon,

Sorry to read what happened to your Monte : (

I was happy to read that you where not hurt by a flying object

through your windshield etc. At times like this I always search

for the worse case senario. It could have always been worse.

Your Monte can be replaced, or fixed, easier then you.

I hope that the repairs can be made without tooo much cost $$

Maybe you might consider putting on a new

hood with a air intake scoop ?

This is the coolest, most welcoming forum out there. Thanks everybody for your advice & comments. There are other members on the MCF with more serious life issues than this one, but it's just so frustrating 'cuz I've only had this car for a month, and it was PERFECT. I have a high deduct. so it'll be out-of pocket to fix.

If this the item came OFF the truck and not OFF the roadway, the truck's owner is responsible for damages to your Monte.

I had a piece of semi tire hit the hood of my '86 LS a few years ago. I made a police report on the damages and was going to turn it in to my auto insurance but got the damage out by myself.

I'd at least check in to having your ins. repair the damage. See what they say?

What about getting the indentation filled in and a set of stripes right over it!? Thats something to tell the wife, "its going in to the the dent fixed"
