Just the other day by me a guy swerved to avoid a deer, and drove his car right into the side of a fuel tanker. He and his daughter both died because of that deer. It's not worth your life to save them, it's just not.
Dam! What a way to go.
But there's a difference between a fuel tanker and a curb. I'll hit the curb. But given a choice between hitting a deer and a fuel tanker, Bambi's gettin creamed.

Along with the dog i didnt get the dog after i hit the curb it ran away and this was at 8pm all i know was that it looked like a golden retrever.

Must the the same dog that likes to p--p in my yard. Then I step in it when I mow.

Luke, you have a clone vehicle running around somewhere. I just saw a Monte with the same color rims, year, etc at Cheers 2 in Fond du Lac, WI Saturday night. Plates were from IL as well. Guy has it for sale and was sleeping in the car for like half an hour with it running.

The REAL question is, what is the COST of repairing 2-Wheels vs Repairing and Repainting your front end. I think the cost of having your two wheels rechrome and polish would be a lot cheaper... So I vote the curb.

Only my front one one was damaged. also it is not as bad as a thought at first i was just so mad when it happened i kinda over reacted so i am a little calmer now. I am going to take of my rims and put my stockers back on for the winter sooner than planed just to avoid any tarnish to the rim.

also the lip is polished aluminum. so i dont know if that is harder to repair or not than chrome.

i am going to see how much it would be to get it fixed
if it is with in like 50 bucks of just getting a new one i will most likely just get the new one and have a spare.

Polished aluminium is much simpler to repair. You can actually get a dremel kit that has all kinds of tools to do this, or a typical motorcycle shop may have the stuff needed.

If the damage is superficial ... you can refinish the rim. You definitely need a pneumatic Dual-Action Sander and a whole bunch of sanding discs. Start with 320 and smooth-out the scratches. Then, ... 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200 ... at this point you start getting the finish back ... 1200 Wet with WD40 ... 1500, 1500 Wet with WD40.

Buffing begins: Buff with Polishing Compounds and Jewelers Rouges.

White stick, Brown stick buffing withh a sewn buffing wheel.
Jewelers Rouge #-5 ... added to the buffing wheel and cleaned-off with a screwdriver when the buffer gets loaded-up.
Jewelers Rouge #-6 ... added to the buffing wheel and cleaned-off with a straight-edge when the buffer loads-up.

Finally, Jewelers Rouge #-6 on an Un-sewn Buffing wheel. Mirror finish restored!
