When a first gen Monte Carlo Convertible is done right, they look sharp. I have seen a few that have been built to what they would have looked like from the factory. Not bad looking...

that 80s tail lights are funky looking. the first gens should be way easier to convert since the chevelles, grand sports, cutlass, and gtos all had convertables. i would assume for the gbody ones you would have to use the top from the 79 and up eldorado. like this.
Is it just me or do the taillights (on the 1980) look like they're from a Buick Regal?
The Monte and the Regal share the same A-Body platform (according to Wikipedia) so I wouldn't be surprised if they used similar parts. Otherwise the 1971 one looks good.

thats why i said they look funky. they maybe a europe export car, mexican monte, or custom. regal lights wont fit. all of them are on the A/G body platform. lemans, cutlass, regal, malibu, grand prix. none of the tail lights, or panels swap. i did meet a guy with a 80s 442 that swore he was running monte fenders, and door, but i just think he was misinformed.
